Trace Bowl is shaped directly from the tree trunk it comes from.

A discarded piece of wood is opened up and worked from within. The outer form follows the natural lines of the trunk, while the inside is carved to reveal its grain and structure. Grooves are formed not only to trace what was there, but to hold what comes after.

The bowl does not impose a new shape. It continues one that already existed, carrying traces of its origin while adapting to what it holds.
