Fishing Net Float Boxes

Plastic waste washes ashore along the Swedish coastline,
nets, ropes, floats.

Through the Marine Recycling in Sotenäs, Eva Levin work
directly with these materials. Not to reshape them, but to
understand what they already are.

Working with Marine Waste

Recovered ocean plastic, to test, to learn, and to rethink how materials are used.

Among the collected objects were fishing floats. Their grooves, originally made to fasten nets, revealed a new function.

Instead of breaking the material down and reprocessing it, Eva chose to keep it intact.
